Tshwane University of Technology Residence League

On the 31 of August, an interesting event took place at Soshanguve South Campus where

Student Villa faced off against Mighty Warriors in a thrilling game filled with joyful supporters.

The res league which has 10 teams in it began with excitement as spectators came in numbers

even though the weather was freezing, they were all harmoniously chanting the same song to

show their joy and the love the have for the game that was about to happen.

Both coaches on the sidelines outlined their plans headed towards the game as they both stated

the importance of winning the first game and how long they prepared their team for the game

ahead

Coach Leago Mamogawane of Student Villa shared his game plan and preparation, saying, “We

have prepared over three weeks for this game. We are ready for anything in terms of tactics,

and we are prepared to overcome any obstacles brought to us. At this point, I believe there is no

team that will stop us from winning. The three points are ours.”

He also stated the importance of winning the game and anticipates that his team will score the

first goal.

Coach Nefale Thanyani of Mighty Warriors shared his game plan and preparation of game,

saying, “We had a game against Telkom where we drew against them ,and we won in penalties

and we shown that defense wise we were strong , attacking wise we have to improve and come

up with a few tactics for the next game to try and get goals, but surely as time goes and we will

see by this game if we are ready.”

The game kicked off in the first half with an ending 0-0 as both teams were pressing each other

and both showing possibility of goals in the second half.

The second half began with Villa fc securing the first goa as the coach Leago predicted, then 10

minutes later the warriors fought back with a goal leveling the score board with 1 all until the

final whistle.

Supporters from both teams gathered to show how much they loved the game and sang

together the same chant.



Tshepiso a spectator shared his views of the game saying, “This game the boys played a good

game even though they played with a lot of chances, but they all played well, as you can see

the supports came out in number to support and you can tell that the next games are going to

be exciting, and I can’t wait to be there.”

He also stated that this was one of the greatest games when it’s compared to how these teams

played against other teams and there is improvement from both teams.

League Table

The Residence Log table stands as follows, with Mighty Warriors in 4th position followed by

Student villa in 5th  position. Both teams are set to play their next games on the following week

and both teams are eagerly waiting and are hopeful that they will win the next games.
