The campaign’s objective is to engage students’ views about electoral democracy and

the impact of participation thereof through debate and promote online voter registration

to students.

The campaign does not only focus on Rhodes university, but it also ventures into other

universities as it was hosting an online event at North West University with Mr. Sy

Mamabolo the Chief Electoral Officer at the Electoral Commission Of South Africa (IEC).

“The president ought to have satisfied himself that we are indeed ready to deliver the

election,” said the IEC Deputy CEO Masego Sheburi.

The IEC continues to urge young people who qualify to vote to register online as it
shares the official link on its social media pages such as X/Twitter for young people to
follow and do the right thing by registering.
